Woman charged with selling heroin in hospital
GREENSBURG — A woman is accused of selling heroin while a patient at a Western Pennsylvania hospital, first in the intensive care unit and later from her room.
Greensburg police said an undercover informant bought $90 worth of heroin Friday from 38-year-old Lori Sullenberger, who was being treated for an undisclosed ailment at Excela Westmoreland Hospital. A police search later uncovered $3,800 in heroin, two syringes and $1,400 in her room.
Sullenberger was charged Tuesday with multiple felony and misdemeanor drug-related charges.
Excela spokesman Jennifer Miele said hospital security became suspicious of the large number of people flowing in and out of Sullenberger’s room.
