Scam victimizes Ohio State fans
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The state's attorney general is warning Buckeye football fans to be skeptical of Sugar Bowl ticket offerings after two individuals reported being scammed on Craigslist.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says a Franklin County consumer found an online ad for six tickets to Ohio State University's national semifinal game against Alabama on Jan. 1.
DeWine's office says the seller claimed to be a service member and showed a military ID, which turned out to be stolen. The consumer never got the tickets and was out $800. A Fayette County consumer reported a similar experience.
