The 18th annual Mega Cruise is set for Saturday at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, Penn Township. Gates will open at 1 p.m., and the event will run until 10 p.m. All types of cars, trucks, motorcycles and airplanes may attend. Show vehicles get in free, but anyone just visiting will be asked for a $2 entry donation to benefit the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department and cover the event’s costs.

Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, except holidays. Museum admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than 8 accompanied by an adult. PITTSBURGH

Fort Pitt Museum in Point State Park, part of the Smithsonian-affiliated Senator John Heinz History Center museum system, hosts Fort Pitt Garrison Drill at 1 p.m. July 14 and Aug. 18, featuring demonstrations of 18th century military drills and the firing of the museum’s replica British six-pounder cannon, weather permitting. Museum admission is $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $2 off admission for retired and active military, and $4.50 for students with a valid ID and children ages 6-17. Children’s Museum, 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, presents “Thomas & Friends: Explore the Rails” through Sept. 9 and “The Pigeon Comes to Pittsburgh: A Mo Willems Exhibit” through Sept. 2. Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except holidays. Admission is $16 for adults and $14 for children ages 2 to 18 and senior citizens. Children younger than 2 are admitted free. Carnegie Science Center on the North Side hosts the Lego exhibit “The Art of the Brick” through Jan. 7. Behind the scenes tours of the USS Requin, the Cold War-era submarine, will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. July 29, Aug. 12 and 26, and Sept. 9. Tour participants must be age 15 or older; cost is $20 and registration in advance is required. Science center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some movies and shows are later.
