Cochran shines for SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK Freeport graduate Lacey Cochran, a member of the Slippery Rock University women's track and field team, had a big day at the Slippery Rock Invitational Saturday.
Cochran won the 100 meters with a time of 12.40 seconds, placed third in the 400-meter hurdles and ran the anchor leg of The Rock's winning 4x100 relay unit.
SRU's Whitney Hendershot won the high jump and long jump and placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Amanda Seigworth won the 400-meter hurdles and placed second in the 100-meter hurdles.
On the men's side, Joeri Moerman won the 200 and 400 meters for SRU. He is from The Netherlands. James Schneider won the pole vault and Steve Brenner claimed the high jump.
