Singer makes final 5 on 'The Voice'

North Hills native Chris Jamison proved his singing chops Tuesday, earning a spot in the top five remaining contestants on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Jamison grew up in Ross Township, Allegheny County, but his parents, Michelle and Bryan, are Butler natives.

Jamison has numerous family members — aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents — in Butler County.

Jamison performed Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” on the show Monday night, and Ray Charles’ “Georgia On My Mind” to fight for his slot before the eliminations on Tuesday.

He was saved by a Twitter instant vote for his performance.

Jamison has advanced through auditions and four weeks of live eliminations on the show.

Jamison will perform a free show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh at 6 p.m. today.

“The Voice” airs at 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
