Florence Kay “Flo” Armstrong Shearer

Florence Kay “Flo” Armstrong Shearer, 73, of Butler passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday.

She was born March 20, 1944 in Slippery Rock, to the late Robert Armstrong and the late Alda Christy Armstrong.

Florence was a homemaker. Florence enjoyed the Couple’s Compact Bowling League. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Florence liked crafts, shopping and eating out at various restaurants.

Florence is survived by two sons, Robert (Debbie) Shearer Jr. of Butler and Randall (Traci) Shearer of Butler; daughter, Kimberly (Jim) Lokhaiser of Butler; seven grandchildren, Robert (Carley) Shearer III, Zachery (Rachel) Shearer Sr., Rick Gladd, Jr., Emily Lokhaiser, Blake Shearer, Krysti Weaver, Tyler Shearer; three great-grandchildren, Zachery Shearer, Jr., Coali Bonus and Kaiya Lokhaiser; her twin sister, Francis (Dale) Fleeger of St. Marys; a number of nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Debi (Ken) Justice of Scottsdale, Ariz., Judy (Steve) Worthington of Lancaster, and Susan (Bill) McKain of Stafford, Va.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Shearer, Sr. whom she married on May 11, 1963 and who passed away on Dec. 28, 2000; three sisters, Kathryn, Helen and Eleanor; and one brother, Robert Armstrong.

SHEARER — Friends of Florence Kay “Flo” Armstrong Shearer, who died April 6, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joel A. Benson, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
