Firefighters respond to barn fire intentionally set by owner in Venango Twp.

VENANGO TWP — Firefighters responding to a structure fire in the township were surprised to find it was deliberately set by the owner.

According to firefighters from the Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department, the owner of the barn at 124 Seaton Road decided to raze the structure on his own at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

By the time emergency crews arrived, alerted by a motorist who saw the flames, the barn was almost destroyed and only the brush surrounding it remained ablaze.

No injuries were reported and no charges have been filed in the incident. Firefighters cleared the scene within about 20 minutes.
