Former NFL player Rich Saul dies at age 64
Rich Saul, a Butler High School graduate who played football for the Los Angeles Rams, died Sunday in his California home.
Saul, 64, had suffered from leukemia.
Along with his twin brother, Ron, the Butler County hall-of-famer played for the Michigan State University Spartans before heading to the NFL.
The 1966 Butler graduate played 12 seasons from 1970 through 1981 as an offensive lineman for the Rams.
After hanging up his cleats, Saul started a career in finance and real estate with Fidelity National.
Ron Saul was an offensive lineman for the Houston Oilers and Washington Redskins, playing a dozen years.
His older brother, Bill, played for the Steelers in the 1960s.
