Charles Bupp
Charles Roland Bupp, 91, of Harmony passed away peacefully at his home Saturday evening.
Born Nov. 20, 1924, on his family farm in Lancaster Township, he was the son of the late Howard William and Anna Floy Stewart Bupp.
He was a lifetime member of St John's Lutheran Stone Church, where he served on the church council and cemetery committee.
His passions were family, farming, church and his community. He was a lifelong farmer, who started his dairy business on his dad's farm.
Charles belonged to the Butler County Farm Bureau, where he served as a past president, vice-president and legislative committee chair. He belonged and served as past officers at the Unionville Grange.
He served as a Republican committee man and on the planning board for Lancaster Township. Charles is in the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame, recognized for voting in 50 consecutive years of primary and general elections.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rebecca Rider Bupp, who he married Aug. 26, 1960; his children, Dora (Claude) Kniess of Evans City, Michael C. (Deb Alley) Bupp of Pittsburgh and David T. (Autumn) Bupp of Harmony; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
BUPP — Visitation for Charles Roland Bupp, who died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St John's Stone Church, 235 Stone Church Road, Harmony, with the Rev. Robert Koval, his church pastor, officiating.
