The storm that came through Butler County Monday evening left some county residents without electric service.

As of this morning, there were scattered power outages in Butler and Middlesex townships and in the Slippery Rock area, West Penn Power Co. reported on its website.

The company also is checking reports of outages of 500 to 1,500 customers near Meridian.

Service is expected to be restored by noon.

Central Electric Cooperative reports 300 service interruptions this morning, but did not identify the locations.

The cooperative reported 5,200 members lost their power during the height of the storm overnight throlughout its service area.
