CRANBERRY TWP — A vehicle accident on Route 19 South involving a piece of heavy construction equipment has a section of the southbound road closed until it can be cleared. The route is closed from Route 228/Freedom Road to Warrendale Bayne Road in Allegheny County.

The crash happened under a bridge south of the Turnpike, and southbound traffic on Route 19 is being redirected to Route 228, according to Cranberry Township Public Works.

Officials are not sure how long the section will remain closed.
