John Clinton Fremont Day

John Clinton Fremont Day, 78, of Butler passed away Monday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born May 21, 1939, in Clay Township and was raised by his late aunt and uncle, Ila and Lawrence Barber.

John was a member of Oak Hills Christian Church.

After high school, he spent several years in construction. He worked 14 years at Mack's Chicken Farm and retired from the Butler Township Road Department after 27 years. He then started working in 2004 part-time in maintenance for Butler Township and did so for 12 years.

He was a veteran of U.S. Army.

Surviving are six daughters, Denise (Robert) Caracci of Butler, Debbie Watson and her fiancé, Herb Ray, of Natrona Heights, Winky Cameron of San Diego, Calif., Mary (Ed) Parsons of Wilkesboro, N.C., Lori (Greg) Frescas of Montana and Misty (Shawn) Maitland Stahl of Rimersburg; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Peffer of Butler and Mary Ziegler of Connoquenessing; and his beloved dog, Mini.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marion (Fend) Day, who died May 14, 2013; four brothers, Samuel, Pete, Walter and Gerald Day; and his son, Ramie Cameron Jr.

DAY — Services for John Clinton Fremont Day, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, will be held at noon Wednesday at the chapel at Butler County Memorial Park with the Rev. Ashley Stansfield officiating.Military honors will be at the chapel at Butler County Memorial Park by VFW Post 249, American Legion 778 and Butler Legion 117.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Wilkes, P.O.
