Cranberry supervisors OK final Village plans

CRANBERRY TWP — The township supervisors Tuesday night approved the final piece of the development plans for the Village of Cranberry Woods and gave approval for the project to move forward.

Ron Henshaw, director of community development for the township, said the plans are for a 10,000-square-foot, two-story building that will house a restaurant with a drive-through lane on the first floor and offices on the second floor.

The building is part of the Village, a development that will include 300 residential units, a 361-room hotel, another office building, another restaurant, and a large retail store.

In other business, the supervisors approved the road design for Smiley Cookie Lane in the Park Place development.

Henshaw said the developers of Park Place finally will be able to proceed with phase two of the plan, which includes more single-family homes, a community center building with a swimming pool, and additional townhomes.

“It’s sort of monumental to get it moving. It will really get things going out there,” Henshaw said. “We expect them to begin building this summer.”

The supervisors also authorized the township administrative staff to prepare paperwork for a potential $32 million loan for improvements to the Brush Creek water treatment facility.

Jerry Andree, township manager, said the vote allows the staff to get the loan details before the loan application is possibly finalized by the supervisors in late July.
