PENN TWP — A van driver apparently got confused and crashed into a building at Mike Kelly Automotive just after 11:30 a.m. today.

Township Police Patrolman Jack Ripper said the driver of a burgundy Chevy van was pulling into a parking spot and hit the curb. He then mixed up the brake pedal and accelerator, causing him to collide into the building.

The van narrowly missed a woman whose desk was nearby. Nobody was injured.

Ripper said the accident is non-reportable because it is on private property and no charges would be filed against the driver.

Company officials were not sure of how much damage was caused or how the damage will affect company operations on Route 8 south of Butler.
