Craft day planned in Evans CityEVANS CITY — The Evans City Public Library, 204 S. Jackson St., will celebrate “A Paper and String Christmas” for all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.The event will be a Christmas craft day with make-and-take Christmas decorations, gingerbread houses, snow globes and refreshments.There is no admission fee for children. Donations will be accepted from adults.

Library hosts holiday eventsThe Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., will host Gingerbread House Decorating from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Registration is required.The library will have a winter wreath-making workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 8. Church sale has gifts, cookiesSaint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have a cookie walk from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 10. Use the Cliff Street entrance.Customers will choose their own combination of cookies. The cookies will be priced by the dozen.The youths of the church also will have an alternative gift sale. Proceeds will benefit people in the United States and around the world.

Christmas cookie walk to aid librarySAXONBURG — The South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., will have a Christmas cookie walk from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the library.Participants will select four to five dozen cookies or a prepared cookie tray. The event also will include a basket raffle, specialty sweets and holiday decor.Tickets are available in advance at the library. Proceeds will benefit the library.Notices of local upcoming news should be received by the Community Department one week in advance of the event.
