SR Eels advance, break records
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Eels swim team is sending four swimmers to the Allegheny Mountain Swimming’s Junior Olympic championship meet next weekend at the University of Pittsburgh.
Natalie Carlantonio, Cora Plank, Emma Plank and Marcus Swartfager are moving on.
Emma Plank has also qualified for the Summer Zone Championship in Richmond, VA., Aug. 9-12
Under the guidance of coach Tim O’Toole, the Eels have broken 27 team records since September of last year.
The Eels will be celebrating their 40th season in 2017-18. Fall registration will be at the end of August. Details can be found at www.slipperyrockeels.com.
Ten Eel swimmers competed in the AMS Bronze/Silver Long Course Championship meet last weekend at the Olympic Swim and Health Club in Penn Hills. The results follow:
