2 accidents reported as snow starts falling
Two accidents accompanied this morning’s snowfall in Butler County.
In the first accident, which was reported to the county 911 dispatch center at 7:32 a.m., a vehicle slid off Whitestown Road in Butler Township.
The second, which was reported at 7:50 a.m., occurred when a car went over an embankment along Cruikshank Road in Penn Township.
No injuries were reported.
A winter weather advisory for the county will continues until 6 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh said about 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected to fall through the day, with the heaviest period being late morning to early afternoon. Visibility will be limited at times, and snow covered roads can be expected.
There will be some lingering snow in the evening, but no accumulation is expected. The service reported that no major snow fall is expected for the rest of the month.
