A Butler man pleaded guilty Friday in three cases, including sexually assaulting two teenage girls, and attempting to injure a police officer with a vehicle.

Lee J. Rapsinski, 21, pleaded guilty to felony statutory sexual assault, interference with custody of children, corruption of minors, misdemeanor tampering with evidence and two counts of simple assault before Judge William Shaffer.

The plea agreements call for a total sentence of 3 to 6 years in state prison, followed by 1 year of probation. He will also be ordered to pay restitution and fines, as well as to have no contact with the victims in the cases.

Rapsinski will also be required to register as a sex offender for 15 years following his release from prison.

Shaffer also ordered a Sexual Offender Assessment Board sexually violent predator assessment to be conducted. Sentencing will be scheduled following the completion of that assessment.

Rapsinski was initially charged with felony statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, corruption of minors, misdemeanor indecent exposure and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old after an incident in Saxonburg on Jan. 7, 2017.

State police said that Rapsinski had sex with a 14-year-old girl in a car at a church parking lot while he was 19 years old.

He was then charged in two separate cases that occurred on Nov. 11, 2017, in Jefferson Township.

In the first case, he was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, two counts of misdemeanor simple assault, and one count each of terroristic threats, tampering with evidence, summary harassment, underage drinking and disorderly conduct. In the second case, he was charged with felony aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, interference with the custody of children, corruption of minors, misdemeanor indecent exposure and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old.

In the first incident, state police said Rapsinski threatened a man with a knife during an altercation at Dinnerbell and Whitaker roads in Jefferson Township.

An off-duty Butler Township police officer approached the men, and Rapsinski got into his vehicle and began to drive away. The officer, who opened the door and tried to prevent Rapsinski from leaving, was dragged until she fell to the ground, according to a police affidavit.

Troopers later found Rapsinski in a wooded area behind his house.

While in custody, police then charged him with the second case, after allegations that he molested a 13-year-old girl in his car on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township that same day.

The victim, during a forensic interview Nov. 16, recounted that she met Rapsinski on Snapchat and eventually agreed to “hang out” with him, according to court documents.

The girl told investigators that after she walked away from her home in Jefferson Township, Rapsinski picked her up in his car. He drove to a gravel pull-off in a wooded area on Dinnerbell Road and they got into the back seat.

He is accused of touching her and pulling down his pants, documents said, and fondling her despite her telling him “no.”

Police also said Rapsinski, while communicating with the girl on social media, exposed himself to her via live stream video.

He continues to be held on a combined $150,000 bail pending sentencing.
