Fab 4 returns to Lernerville
BUFFALO TWP — The Fab4 racing program will be joined by the 305 Sprints of the Allegheny Sprint Tour Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.
A.J. Flick leads the Sprints points race at the Sarver oval, 19 points ahead of Sye Lynch. Carl Bowser is third. Flick has two feature wins on the season. Brad Rapp and Jeremiah Shingledecker share the Modified points lead.
Tyler Dietz has three wins on the season in Pro Stocks, but has only a 15-point lead on Todd Weldon. Joey Zambotti is third.
The grandstands open at 5 p.m. Friday with racing set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the Big River Steel Firecracker 100 weekend June 23-25 are available now at www.Lernerville.com.
Johnston nets win in harness racing
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Bigly, trained and driven by Evans City resident Aaron Johnston, won a $9,500 Conditioned Trot during harness racing action Thursday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Guido Di, driven by Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown and trained by Steve Schoeffel of Evans City, rolled to his sixth win in 14 lifetime starts. Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel of Evans City own the 3-year-old trotter, as do Louis Falton and Sara Zidek.
Butler grad Pakozdi Academic All-District
GREENVILLE — Butler graduate and Thiel College track and field standout Chad Pakozdi has been named to the Academic All-District 4 first team.
Pakozdi ran the first leg of Thiel’s school record-breaking distance medley relay team this spring. He is earning his masters in business administration and was the senior class vice president.
