Louis W. Holzwarth
Louis W. Holzwarth, 88, of Chicora, a well-known retired school bus driver, passed away early Wednesday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital following complications of pneumonia.
Louis was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Elmer and Rose Hokamp Holzwarth.
Mr. Holzwarth was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Louis was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He enjoyed working on puzzles and crosswords.
In his earlier years, Mr. Holzwarth was employed as a foreman for Penn Dixie Cement Co. and was employed as a school bus driver for more than half a century. He drove for Tribley Bus Lines, Kerm Hovis, C.G. McCormick, Robert Moore Bus Lines and Bauman Bus Lines.
Louis is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Little Holzwarth, whom he married on June 25, 1960, at St. Patrick Sugarcreek Church in Armstrong County.
Also surviving are six children, Theresa A. Holzwarth and her partner, Kris Timblin, of Chicora, Mary E. Mann and her husband, Gerald, of Ronceverte, W.Va., Patricia L. McElravy and her husband, Eric, of Chicora, Louis A. Holzwarth SSG U.S. Army, Ret., of Killeen, Texas, Jean Marie Holzwarth of Chicora, and Joseph Holzwarth and his wife, Melanie, of Butler; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Schreckenghost of Kittanning; two sisters-in-law, Rose Snyder of Chicora, and Judy Holzwarth of Pittsburgh; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Paul and Albert Holzwarth; and a sister, Rose Marie Pennington.
HOLZWARTH — Friends of Louis W. Holzwarth, who died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev. John M.
