Thelma Virginia Rumbaugh Steele
Thelma Virginia Rumbaugh Steele, 91, of Leechburg, Pa., passed away Friday at the Newhaven Court at Clearview.
She was born July 26, 1926, to the late Alvie M. Rumbaugh and the late Mildred Irene Burkett Lauffer Rumbaugh.
Mrs. Steele was very artistic and loved being outdoors doing landscaping or doing pencil sketching and oil paintings. She enjoyed dancing, fashion and clothing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her two sons, John H. Steele Jr. of Vandergrift, Pa., and Todd A. Steele of Vandergrift, Pa.; two daughters, Cathy L. Steele Kerr of Butler and Randy H. Steele Miller of Slippery Rock; 19 grandchildren; many beautiful great-grandchildren; many beautiful great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard F. Rumbaugh of Monroeville, Pa.; and her sister, Bonnie Lee Rumbaugh Keys of Manorville, Pa.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Steele, whom she married July 16, 1944, and who died Sept. 20, 2012; her son, Arthur A. Steele; and siblings, Betty Jane Lauffer Williamson, Evelyn Rumbaugh Guthrie, Donald Dean Rumbaugh and Robert M. Rumbaugh.
