S. Butler hires school superintendent
SAXONBURG — Dale Lumley was hired Wednesday night to be the new superintendent of the South Butler School District, effective Dec. 1.
He was approved by the school board Wednesday night.
He will replace Frank C. Prazenica Jr., who will retire.
Lumley will have a five-year contract with a starting salary of $132,000.
Lumley has worked in the district for a year as assistant superintendent. The board was aware that Prazenica planned to retire and hired Lumley to prepare for the transition.
Lumley spent the first 25 years of his career in the Butler School District as an English teacher, assistant principal and principal. He then was the assistant superintendent of the Gateway School District in Monroeville for four years.
