Army Sgt.

Katherine Konyha, daughter of William and Mary Konyha of Butler, is a nuclear biological chemical specialist.She deployed April 3 to Iraq for a year and is attached with the 108th M.P., 503rd Military Police Battalion (Airborne) unit from Fort Bragg, N.C.Konyha's first deployment was in 2005 with the 3rd. I.D. from Fort Benning, Ga.———Navy Seaman

Aaron Devoe, son of Lynn B. Devoe of Gibsonia, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.———Navy Seaman

John Marra, son of Lisa and John Marra of Butler, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.Marra is a 2006 graduate of Butler High School.———Air Force Airman 1st Class

Philip Armstrong arrived for duty at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M.Armstrong, son of Kerry Armstrong of Valencia, is a 2006 graduate of Mars High School.———Navy Seaman

Matthew Bickerstaff, son of David G. Bickerstaff of Glenshaw and Pamela Bickerstaff of Hopkinsville, Ky., completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.Bickerstaff is a 2004 graduate of Christian County High School, Hopkinsville, Ky.———Butler native, Army Staff Sgt.

Nathan Kildoo, stationed in Hawaii, currently is serving in Iraq.Kildoo, a senior crew chief for a UH-60 and a battalion standardization instructor, has completed tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.He attended Butler Area schools through the 10th grade, graduated from Moniteau High School in 2000 and entered into the Army July 2000.The sergeant is the son of Sharon Smith of Florida, sister of Nikki Wagner of Renfrew and grandson of Charles and Nancy Stephenson of ButlerHis wife, 2nd Lt. Laura Kildoo entered the Army July 2009 as an registered nurse. They are the parents of a daughter.
