Audra Cubbage, daughter of Larry and Judy Schnell of Karns City, is a medical technician with the 911th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Pittsburgh.She recently took part in Operation Arctic Care 2010 in which medical, dental and veterinary teams provided no-cost medical care to Alaskans in remote villages.During the operation, the teams saw more than 1,675 medical patients, treated about 1,400 dental patients, created and distributed more than 900 pairs of glasses and vaccinated more than 730 dogs.Villages often showed their appreciation by holding dinners and lunches for the service members, which included local flavors such as caribou stew, muktuk (whale blubber) and sheefish. They also demonstrated sports activities that originally were developed as survival techniques over centuries in the harsh Arctic climate, as well as a number of native dances.———
