BC3 golf wins Region XX title
Troy Loughry earned medalist honors with a 73-73-146 recently as the Butler County Community College golf team won the Region XX championship at The Links at Spring Church.
Loughry and Liam Kosior (156) earned all-region team berths. Collin Witouski shot a 164, Freeport graduate Jack Mason a 165 and Tanner Hohmann a 175. The Pioneers (10-0) talked a 629 in beating out Anne Arundel CC (652) and Westmoreland CCC (719).
BC3 will compete in the NJCAA National Tournament June 7-10 at Chautauqua Golf Club in New York.
Mars resident gets college athlete honor
BEREA, Ohio — Mars resident Niklas Baldis, a first baseman on the Baldwin Wallace University baseball team, has been inducted into the B-W chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.
The criteria for selection includes a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.4, junior academic standing by the fifth semester, earned athletic letter, excellent character and citizenship. Baldis shares this honor with 88 other students.
