Charles J. Hardt
Charles J. Hardt of Valencia, 89, passed away Friday.
He was the beloved husband for 69 years of Annetta M. (Grissell) Hardt; loving father of Diana (Robert) L. Lambert of Mars and Kenneth J. Hardt of Prospect; proud grandfather of Laurie, “Butch,” Amy, Benjamin and Brian; great-grandfather of Brandon, Madison, Chase, Cameron, Melissa and Christopher; and great-great-grandfather of Myliegh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. and Jennie (Vaughan) Hardt, and three sisters.
Charles proudly served his country in the European Theatre in World War II as a Merchant Marine. He retired from the Peoples Natural Gas Co. after 41 years of service.
He was a member of the John E. Mair Lodge, F&AM, the Penn Township American Legion, the Syria Shrine (Director's Staff) N.A.C.O., and a lifelong member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
HARDT — Friends of Charles J. Hardt, who died Friday, April 15, 2016, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia, Pa., 15044, with Rev.
