Dorothy Catherine Schnur
Dorothy Catherine Schnur, 99, of Herman died Monday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1918, in Herman, she was a daughter of the late William E. Miller and Louella (McLaughlin) Miller.
She was a homemaker, specializing in baking bread, pies and cooking family dinners.
She enjoyed traveling, making pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Fatima, Lourdes and Guadalupe. She especially enjoyed cruises and beach vacations. Also, she like to play 500 with her family and eat pizza from Pizza Hut.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, where she had been a Eucharistic minister and also helped begin their fish dinners where she fried fish for 39 years.
Surviving are her children, Sister Nancy Schnur C.D.P. of Butler, Betty (Gary) Wolfe of Johnson City, Tenn., Robert (Patricia) Schnur, Rita (Robert) Thompson and Thomas (Deborah) Schnur, all of Butler, and Mary Ellen (Richard) Rodgers of Butler and Denver, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Schnur, whom she married at St. Mary's Church in Herman on June 15, 1938. He died May 13, 1988; her daughter and son-in-law, Lois Ann Walsh and Douglas Walsh; her siblings, Ted Miller, Rose Convery, John Miller, Harold Miller, Mary McDeavitt, Charles Miller and Leo Miller.
SCHNUR — Friends of Dorothy Catherine Schnur, who died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
