Motorcyclist injured after hitting pickup

BUTLER TWP — A motorcyclist is in serious condition this morning as a result of an accident Monday afternoon in Butler Township.

Homer Clark, 52, of Butler was taken to Allegheny General Hospital on Monday, after rear-ending a pickup truck stopped for a school bus.

The incident in the southbound lane of Dutchtown Road occurred about 4 p.m.

Police said Clark was driving his Harley-Davidson south on the road when he rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by David Comer, 49, of Lyndora, as it was stopped for a school bus on the road.

Police said Comer suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Police said Clark initially was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon. A Butler hospital spokesman said Clark was transferred to Allegheny General. An AGH spokesman said he was in serious condition this morning.

Police said the incident is under investigation, but the school bus was not involved in the accident. An officer providing information this morning did not know if Clark was wearing a helmet.
