Mahood Road Bridge open, needs new deck surface
CLAY TWP — The Mahood Road bridge over the B&LE Railroad has been reopened.
The state Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that while the bridge is open to traffic, motorists may notice a slight bump when crossing the bridge.
The bump will be eliminated when the overlay concrete is applied to the bridge deck. The application will protect the deck from the effects of winter and reduce the long-term maintenance costs.
The Mahood Road bridge was one of the 588 scheduled for replacement under the state’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
