Cozy McKinney
Mrs. Cozy McKinney, 86, of Buffalo Township went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday while in the company of family members at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Harrison Township.
Cozy was born in Natrona, March 12, 1924, the daughter of the late Murray B. and Hilda M. (Frank) Fitzgerald.
She was the wife of the late George C. McKinney, who had passed in 2002.
She had lived in the Birdville section of Natrona Heights all of her life up until three years ago when she had moved into Rosebrook in Sarver.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Natrona Heights, where she was a financial secretary for many years. Cozy and her late husband were members of the Buffalo Township Senior Citizens.
She was a 26-year cancer survivor.
Cozy loved serving others and being involved with all the activities at her church. She loved to be surrounded by her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Most of all, she loved her Lord, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Elise) McKinney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robb McKinney of Cranberry Township; her daughter, Cheryl C. (Gregg) Helgert of South Buffalo Township; and her ex-daughter-in-law, Wendy McKinney of Butler. She also is survived by her seven grandchildren, Kim (Dave) Schaefer, Brad (Regina) McKinney, Heath and Joshua Helgert, Brittny and Ryan and Haley McKinney; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ashlyn Schaefer.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara B. McKinney; a brother, Murray S. Fitzgerald; and her three sisters, Maxine Beachy, Bernice Stimel and Mary Lou Michael.
<B>MCKINNEY</B> — Family and friends of Cozy McKinney, who died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St. Freeport. A funeral service will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Larry Pawson officiating.
