Laurel D. Burt
Laurel D. Burt, 75, a well-known Rimersburg resident, longtime local registrar and retired EMT, passed away early Thursday morning at Clarion Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Laurel was born in Clarion County Oct. 3, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Ivan D. and Helen Juanita Eddinger Lasher.
She was a 1961 graduate of Union High School.
Laurel enjoyed sitting around the fire at camp, fishing, pontoon boating, yard sales, trying and sharing new recipes and growing and sharing vegetables from her garden. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Laurel retired from Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service after more than 30 years of service as an EMT. She was a Pennsylvania State local registrar for nearly 30 years and was well-respected among the area's local funeral directors.
Surviving are her husband, Robert A. “Bob” Burt Sr., whom she married in Rimersburg March 28, 1964. Also surviving are two children, Robert A. Burt Jr. and his wife, Shanna, of Rimersburg, and Shelly D. Schons and her husband, Ross, of Templeton; five grandchildren, Dillan, Heather, Luke, Michael and Addilynn; one great-granddaughter, Lydia; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Laurel was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Lee; an infant sister, Sally Ann; and two brothers, Raymond S. and Ivan C. Lasher.
BURT — Friends of Laurel D. Burt, who died Thursday March 29, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Burns Funeral Home and Crematorium, 434 Main St., Rimersburg.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev.
