George Jankovich

George Jankovich Jr., 72, of Butler passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Jan. 13, 1943 in Butler, he was a son of Helen Prenovitz Jankovich and the late George Jankovich.

He was a long distance truck driver for AWTF Trucking.

He was involved in gymnastics starting at Lyndora Elementary School and continuing through high school. He volunteered in the preparation of pierogies at St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Lyndora. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy Stampfle Jankovich, who he married Nov. 13, 2001; his mother, Helen Prenovitz Jankovich; his stepson, Robert Gross; one brother, Nicholas (Joan) Jankovich, all of Butler; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father and several aunts and uncles.

JANKOVICH — Friends of George Jankovich Jr., who died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Wargo officiating.Internment will follow at North Side Cemetery in Butler.
