Scott Edward O'Donnell

Scott Edward O'Donnell, 32, of Portersville passed away Sunday.

He was born Nov. 23, 1984, in New Castle, to Edward Eugene and Susan Elaine Montgomery O'Donnell.

Scott had worked for Marathon Gas in Harmony and was a member of the Mountville Presbyterian Church in Portersville.

Scott graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 2003 and the University of Northwestern in Lima, Ohio, in 2007.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, trapping and fishing, especially trout fishing and turkey hunting. He also loved classic cars and was active in rebuilding them and motorcycles.

Scott was a proud member of the NRA. He loved his beard. He lived life to its fullest and always spent it doing the things he enjoyed most.

Scott is survived by his parents, Edward and Susan O'Donnell of Portersville; his sister, Kelly S. O'Donnell, and her husband, Robert J. Mrozek, and their children, Emme “Squirt” and Taves of Butler; his paternal grandmother, Mary J. O'Donnell of Portersville; three uncles, Ted Montgomery and his wife, Barbara, of Poland, Ohio, Jerry O'Donnell and his wife, Glenda, of Portersville and Joseph O'Donnell of Portersville; and a number of cousins and friends.

Also surviving is his lifelong best friend, Shane Elser, with whom a lifetime of great memories and great adventures will live on.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry and Helen Montgomery; and paternal grandfather, Joseph O'Donnell.

O'DONNELL — Family of Scott Edward O'Donnell, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Hurray, retired pastor of the Mountville Presbyterian Church, presiding. Private interment will follow Thursday at the Mountville Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his name to St. Luke Lutheran School, “Plant-A-Seed Scholarship Fund,” Cabot.
