Audrey Treese Pitchke
Audrey Treese Pitchke, 93, passed away Monday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
A devoted and beloved wife of the late Joseph Pitchke, mother and grandmother, Audrey's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.
Audrey was born March 6, 1923, in Pittsburgh, to the late John and Marie Treese. She married Joseph Pitchke on June 30, 1943. The couple raised their family in Etna.
Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her 20s, losing the use of her legs, she fought the disease with a never-quit attitude, overcoming every obstacle to raise a large family, cook, drive and travel the world. Her resiliency was a shining example for everyone in her life.
Audrey had great creative talents, making personalized gifts for all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren playing games and doing puzzles. She enjoyed shopping with her children and always enjoyed her sweets and candies. Audrey went on to have 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her four children, Bernie (Sylvia) Pitchke of Virginia, Audrey (James) Lott of Butler, Shirley (Larry) Leasure of Butler and Patricia (Ron) Perkins of Saxonburg; and her brother, Bill Treese of Glenshaw.
