Frank E. Herman Sr.

Frank E. Herman Sr., 77, of Irwin Township, Venango County, Harrisville, passed away peacefully while under the care of the VNA Hospice on Monday.

Born Sept. 1, 1940, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Rita (Rotter) Herman.

Mr. Herman worked as a truck driver for 38 years at American Hardware, which later became ServiStar, located in East Butler. During his retirement, he drove a school bus for Valley Bus Line, Butler and Campbell Bus Lines and Slippery Rock.

Frank was an avid sports fan. He bowled for years with the commercial league in Butler and also he golfed for years for the Natalie Golf League, until his health declined.

He is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Jeanette Herman Bates, at home; a daughter, Lisa Herman and her husband, Glenn, of Florida, and Frank E. Herman Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Trena Ortiz, Joshua Netto, Jared Netto and Amanda Herman; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Ryder; and a brother, John Herman and wife Sue, both Butler.

His parents preceded him in death.

HERMAN — Visitation hours for Frank E. Herman Sr., who died Monday, Jan 1, 2018, will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
