Slippery Rock High graduate Steve Drake came off the bench to score 20 points in the second half as the Butler County Community College men’s basketball team defeated Westmoreland, 72-68, Wednesday night.

The win was the first of the season for the Pioneers (1-12).

Vinnie Schmidt had 15 points and eight assists, Brent Ayers 14 points and 14 rebounds, Kevin Rummel 14 points.

Shelby Johnston had 17 points and seven rebounds, but the Pioneer women (3-10) dropped a 70-38 decision. Jen Barry contributed 11 points and seven assists.
