Jane Ellen Kummer
Jane Ellen Kummer, 91, of Renfrew died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 10, 1926, in Butler, to Harry Langbein and Blanche (Crawford) Langbein.
She graduated from Butler High School in June 1944.
Jane worked as a secretary at Butler High School in the principal's office. She then worked as a secretary to Butler County Community College President Dr. James Lawson, retiring in 1978.
Jane enjoyed family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dancing and campfires. She liked horseback riding and camping at Flying W Ranch in Kelletville, Pa.
She belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed playing all card games, especially 500.
Jane and her husband owned and operated the Lazy K Acres Farm.
Jane is survived by her one son, Randal L. (Kathleen) Kummer of Renfrew; three grandchildren, Audra (Rick) Bowers of Pittsburgh, Jessica (Marc) Waltemyer of Wyalusing, Pa., and Randel (Christian) Foertsch of Saxonburg; seven great-grandchildren, Teagan Bowers, Lincoln Bowers, Dayton Bowers, Andi Foertsch, Kinzi Foertsch, Cole Waltemyer and Jaxson Waltemyer; two nieces, Diane Smith of Portersville and Glenda Mae Myers of Byron, Ga.; and three nephews, Robert Kaufman of Butler, Walter Kummer of Kennerdell and Jim Porter of Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair “Bus” Kummer, whom she married Dec. 6, 1948, and who passed away Dec. 5, 1999.
KUMMER — Friends of Jane Ellen Kummer, who died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
