Cheryl L. (Brant) Demek
Cheryl L. (Brant) Demek, 60, of Cabot passed away peacefully Thursday surrounded by her family at the Good Samaritan Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born Aug. 26, 1958, in Natrona Heights. She was the daughter of the late Lynette Brant.
Cheryl was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1976.
After high school, she attended Bradford Business School.
She started her career at Siemens Medical Systems and from there she went to Glassmere Fuel. Most recently, Cheryl had worked at PPC Lubricants in East Butler as a purchasing agent for the past 12 years.
Cheryl enjoyed camping and traveling to the beach. She especially enjoyed making memories with her family and friends.
She was very involved with her kids and their many activities, which included but were not limited to Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTO and baseball.
She also enjoyed making Christmas cookies with her grandsons.
Cheryl was a huge advocate for Relay for Life, where she spent countless hours raising money and awareness for cancer in the hope for some day a cure would be found. Cheryl's legacy will remain through all of the many people she has touched.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Kenneth Demek of Cabot; a daughter, Amber Demek of Cabot; her two sons, Justin (Lauren) Demek of Cabot and Trent (Stephanie) Demek of Gibsonia; and two grandsons, Austin and Brody.
She also is survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her uncle, Wayne Brant; her aunt, Sue Brant; and her grandparents, Addison and Martha Brant.
The family would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this a peaceful journey the last few weeks, especially her caregiver, Jen.
DEMEK — Friends and family of Cheryl L. (Brant) Demek, who died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth St., Freeport, with the Rev.
