Kenneth Blinn
Kenneth Paul Blinn, 80, of Slippery Rock, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on May 5, 2022, at his home, and will be greatly missed.
He was born in Butler County on Feb. 2, 1942, to Marion Kenneth Blinn and Jean Estella Hindman.
Ken was married to Sandra Kay (McDonald) Blinn until her death. He later married Marilynn Kae (Mandas) Martin.
He was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School and received an associate degree from Butler County Community College.
Ken was a lover of the outdoors and nature, and enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, fly-tying and trapping.
He had many trades during his work career. Ken served in the U.S. Navy, was a bank teller, construction worker, woodworker, salesman for CUECO, mayor of West Liberty borough, and he also spent time working at the family feed mill and cider press.
Ken was very active in his community in several clubs and activities, such as Habitat for Humanity, UMCOR and other projects through the church. He was an active member of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church and a former member of Highland Presbyterian Church.
Ken is survived by his wife, Marilynn; his loving children, Melanie C. (Michael) Barrett, of Warren, Pa., Mark K. Blinn, of Daleville, Ala., Marcie K. Blinn, of Austin, Texas, and Grace K. (Brandon) Scott, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Kassandra Sperdute, Jaclyn Rosenberg, Kendrick Blinn, Malik and Khylik Taylor, and Karlie, Colton and Corban Scott; and three great-grandchildren.
BLINN – All are welcome to a memorial celebration of life for Kenneth Paul Blinn, who died Thursday, May 5, 2022, to be held from 9 to 11 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Highland Presbyterian Church, 310 Franklin St., Slippery Rock, with Keith McIlwain as officiant.
A luncheon will follow at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Slippery Rock.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Slippery Rock United Methodist Church or Boys Town.
