Alexander John “A.J.” “Al” Rick Jr., 81, of Middlesex Township, formerly of Bradford Woods and Mars, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2022, at his home.

Born in Pittsburgh on June 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Alexander John and Olga Dobzy Rick.

A.J., as he was known, was a proud 60+ year member of Electrical Workers Union Local 5 in Pittsburgh. He and his brother had owned A.J. Rick Electrical Contractors, and A.J. later worked for Kirby Electric for 15 years.

A.J. was a social member of Mars VFW Post 7505, and had attended the Mars United Presbyterian Church.

He was an avid woodworker.

Surviving are his wife, Carole Brun Rick, whom he married Jan. 23, 1965; his sons, Alexander John Rick III and his wife, Christine, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Sean J. Rick and his wife, Leslie, of Valencia; his grandchildren, Colleen Parkey and her husband, Cody, and Sara Rick; and his great-grandchildren, Easton Rick Parkey and Kennedy Renee Parkey.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Rick; and his brother, Robert Rick.

RICK — Friends of Alexander John “A.J.” “Al” Rick Jr., who died Saturday, May 7, 2022, are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, with the Rev. Brian Hauser, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Donations in his memory may be made in honor of his granddaughter, Maggie, to the Leukemia Society.
