Eileen L. Ganoe Zacherl
Eileen Louise Ganoe Zacherl, 69, of Emlenton died Saturday at UPMC Northwest, Seneca, after a courageous 15-month battle with cancer.
Eileen was born in Clarion on March 14, 1942, the daughter of Thomas E. and Gladys Corle Ganoe, who are deceased.
She was a 1961 graduate of the Immaculate Conception High School, Clarion, and she worked a few years at Owens-Illinois Glass in Clarion.
On Oct. 12, 1963, Eileen married George Douglas Zacherl, and they began their lives together, raising eight children they loved and cherished.
She was a devoted member of St. Michael's Parish in Emlenton, where she was a very active member of the Altar Rosary Society and was an everyday blessing to the parish family. Eileen enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and especially, spending time with her family and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John E. Bresnehan, in 2007.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, George Douglas Zacherl; four sons, Douglas E. Zacherl of Glen Dale, W.Va., Christopher A. Zacherl of Emlenton, Eric T. Zacherl of Knox, and Timothy L. Zacherl and his wife, Christine, of Emlenton; and four daughters, Constance M. Miller and her husband, Thomas, of Emlenton, Carrie A. Bresnehan of Butler, Allison L. Heishman and her husband, Brian, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Margaret T. Glunt and her husband, David, of Edinboro.
She also is survived by a brother, Thomas M. Ganoe of Clarion; and three sisters, Hazel Goodwin of Huntington, W.Va., and Margaret Senard and Jean Dunmyre, both of Clarion.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Kurt, Levi, Matthew, Heather, Jenna, and Alexandra Zacherl, Ashley Blauser, Shannon (Joel) Benard, Shanowa (Jon) Michel, Chelsea McDaniel, Gabriel Glunt, Madison and Caleb Bresnehan, Colin Ramsey and Andy (Michelle) Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Leighton Michel, and Dalton and Andrew Miller.
