Marla Mechling
Marla Mechling, 68, of Connoquenessing Township passed away on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in 1952, in Ashland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Glen Gast and Lownita Palmeter Gast.
Marla and her husband, Allen, owned and operated Mechling Bookbindery and Bookbinders Workshop in Butler Township, for the past 25 years. Over the years, she also worked as an X-ray technician, real estate agent, and office administrator.
She enjoyed reading, walking, traveling and spending time with her family. She also loved to go bike riding with her husband.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, Allen Mechling, whom she married on March 1, 1975; her daughters, Sonja (Bryce) Carpenter of Prospect, and Melissa (Ryan) Lauer of Butler; her grandchildren, Marella, Travis and Darren Carpenter, and Victoria (Tori) and Kyra Lauer; her sisters, Kris Lindsay of Ashland, Ohio, and Gale (Mark) Poling of Lancaster, Ohio; and four nephews and two nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one nephew.
MECHLING — Friends of Marla Mechling, who died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdayat Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in her honor to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037, or to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
