AMBRIDGE — Master Tim Wentling, 46, of Butler won gold and silver medals at the Black-Belt Masters Tournament in Ambridge.

Wentling competed in judo and Jiu-Jitsu. He has 33 years of fighting experience.

CLARION — Clarion University's Memorial Stadium will be the site of Saturday's 1 p.m. PIAA Class AA quarterfinal football game between Karns City (12-1) and South Fayette (13-0).

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University men's and women's basketball teams will sponsor a project to benefit the Slippery Rock Senior Center Dec. 18.The Rock will host West Chester in a basketball doubleheader that day at Morrow Field House. The women's game is at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game set for 7:30 p.m.In exchange for free admission to the games, the Rock teams will collect household products for use by local senior citizens.Products include, but are not limited to, plastic wrap, toilet paper, aluminum foil, paper towels, food service gloves, hairnets, all-purpose cleaners, dish detergent, cleaning pads, puzzles and table games.Call Kevin Reynolds at 724-738-2721 or Tanya Longo at 724-738-4399 for more information.

PITTSBURGH — Butler graduate and La Roche College freshman women's basketball player Mackenzie O'Donnell has been named the school's Athlete of the Week.O'Donnell scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 69-45 win over Carlow, then scored 21 points and snared eight boards in a 78-68 victory over St. Vincent.O'Donnell is averaging 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.
