Jack H. Mohrbacher Sr.

Jack H. Mohrbacher Sr., 83, of Zelienople, passed away Friday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Oct. 23, 1934, in Harmony, Jack was the son of the late Florenc and Anna Herrmann Mohrbacher.

He was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople.

Jack proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1963. He retired in 1991 from Lava Crucible. He was the former owner of the Appalachian Rock Shop and Museum.

In his free time, Jack enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and was a member of the Moraine Rock Busters Club and the Conway Sportsman's Club. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Simpson Mohrbacher; his children, Jack H. Mohrbacher Jr. of Zelienople, Darla (Richard) Palicia of Mercer and Elaine (Steven) Markowski of Cranberry Township; three stepchildren, Dennis (Sue) Simpson, Richard (Molly) Simpson and Shawn (Sandy) Simpson; two grandchildren, Anthony Murphy and Melinda Benninger; eight great-grandchildren, T.J., Mickaila (Joe) Racke, Mason, Morgan Bartlett, Shayla, Gabriel, Dakota and Jaden; one great-great-grandson, Noah Racke; his brother, Terry Mohrbacher of Ellwood City; his sisters, Thelma Hawk of Zelienople and Jean (Allen) Housholder of Coraopolis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace E. Fowler Mohrbacher; and one great-grandson, Jonathan.

MOHRBACHER — A service celebrating the life of Jack H. Mohrbacher Sr., who died Friday, March 16, 2018, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor James R. Bertoti officiating.Jack will be laid to rest with full military honors at the St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's honor to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Rd., Butler, PA 16001.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
