Eldin Hibbs

Eldin Orlo Hibbs, 86, of Zelienople, formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople surrounded by his family.

He was born July 1, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Ray Hibbs and Mae (Sarver) Hibbs.

Eldin was a diesel mechanic for Shaffer Truck Sales and Airco, and he was a driver for Hunter Truck Sales. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, who he married Nov. 1, 1946, Alice May (Hetrick) Hibbs of Zelienople; three sons, Eldin “Mike” (Donna Lee) Hibbs of Butler, Larry (Mollie) Hibbs of Butler and Terry Hibbs of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kristin, Lauren, and Michael Hibbs; great-granddaughter, Eva Hibbs; and a sister, Helen Eppinger of Ocala, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Hibbs.

HIBBS – Friends of Eldin Orlo Hibbs, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.Services will be at the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old Route 422, Butler, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with Connie Dunn officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.Contributions may be made to Passavant Retirement Community Benevolent Care, 401 S.
