Betty L. Kniess Bintrim
Betty L. Kniess Bintrim, 83, of Harmony passed away Monday while in the comfort of her home.
Born July 24, 1929, in Lancaster Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Grace B. (Eppinger) Kniess.
Betty was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was the founder of the Red Hat Chapter of the Bold and Beautiful. She was also a member of the Lancaster Historical Society, the Keenagers, and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at Zion Lutheran.
Betty owned and operated Arnella’s Bridal Shop at Point Plaza Shopping Center in Butler. She was a proud and active volunteer at the Passavant Retirement Community thrift shop and enjoyed her time as a greeter at New Haven Court.
She is survived by her three children, Kenneth L. Bintrim and his wife, Denise, of Harmony, Dennis R. Bintrim and his wife, Pam, of Harmony and Trudy Levere of Prospect; her sister, Evelyn Burcik of Ellwood City; her seven grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren, with one great-grandson on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Darrell Lee Bintrim, who passed away Dec. 29, 2001; her son-in-law, Wade Levere; her three brothers, Carl, Howard and Ray Kniess; and her sister, Mae Florence.
BINTRIM — Betty L. Kniess Bintrim passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. Betty's family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Barbara Love officiating.
