Richard Lee Eppinger Sr., 68, of Butler passed away Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Butler, the son of Margaret (Davis) Eppinger of Butler and the late David F. Eppinger.

Rich enjoyed fishing and hunting and just being outdoors. He liked to listen to his C.B. radio.

Surviving along with his mother are his wife of 45 years, Stella M. (Frye) Eppinger of Butler; his daughter, Tracy L. Eppinger of Butler; two sons, Richard L. Eppinger Jr. of Chicora and Michael A. Eppinger of Butler; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Edward (Sandy) Eppinger of Butler, Mary (Ken) Green of Butler, Bonnie (Sam) Zurzolo of Butler and John (Sandi) Eppinger of Butler; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Eppinger of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and a granddaughter.
