MUDDY CREEK TWP — Emergency crews are searching for a missing man at Moraine State Park.

The man, who was not identified, was last seen at 7 p.m. Thursday launching a red canoe from the Bear Run Boat Launch on the park’s South Shore.

Jake Weiland, assistant park manager, said crews from the Butler County Emergency Services Department as well as the county’s Team 300 water rescue team are responding.

He said emergency crews are staging at the boat launch.

Weiland said the search began at 8 a.m., which was when park officials were notified that the man was missing.
