David K. Rodgers
David K. Rodgers, 77, of Butler passed away Saturday evening at St. John Specialty Care in Mars.
Born May 28, 1941, in Herman, he was a son of the late Robert J. Rodgers and Betty J. (Jenkins) Rodgers.
He worked as a long haul truck driver and route manager for Vogel Disposal for 23 years. He previously worked as an underwriter for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for seven years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Penn Township Veterans Club and the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora.
He was an avid bowler and was a coach for his son's sports teams.
Surviving are two sons, Justin D. Rodgers of Ellwood City and Eric T. Rodgers of Robinson; two daughters, Melissa M. Hall of Butler and Jodie L. (Jim) Treece of Frederick, Md.; a grandson, Brandon Hall of Butler; four sisters, Nancy (Dennis) Reilly of Butler, Kathryn (Randy) Hamilton of West Palm Beach, Fla., Cherilayne “Cookie” (Thomas) Miller of Herman, and Gloria Rodgers of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert Nulph and Robert Rodgers.
