Veteran town hall to be held online May 18
The state Department of Military Veterans Affairs will host the second in a five-part series of virtual Veteran Town Halls from 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 18.
The town hall will focus on serving older veterans.
Robert Torres, the state Department of Aging secretary, will join Brig. Gen. Maureen Weigl, DMVA deputy adjutant general for veteran affairs; and Travis Davis, DMVA director of long-term care to discuss veterans homes, the aging department’s Caregiver Support Program, senior centers, accessing nutritional programs and recognizing abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters through a chat feature.
Those interested in participating can visit https://www.dmva.pa.gov/Pages/default.aspx, or the DMVA’s Facebook or Twitter pages, two weeks before the town hall to get the link needed to attend the town hall.
